SRU’s online master’s in reading named one of the nation’s best

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University's online master's degree in elementary education K-12 reading program has been ranked as one of the 30 best in the country by TheBestSchools.org.

TheBestSchools.org aims to "connect prospective students with the best online degree programs available" and provide "the best resources and advice to assist learners through every step of their education, into their careers and toward sustainable lifelong learning."

Schools were selected following a review of all accredited online master's in reading degree programs in the country. Rankings were formulated based on six categories:

• Strength of online instruction methodology.
• Academic excellence based on a school's general curriculum or within the selected discipline.
• Strength of faculty scholarship.
• Reputation.
• Range of degree programs.
• Financial aid.

SRU, ranked No. 15, was the only institution from Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education to make the list.
