Student with professor learning about the new forklift

Slippery Rock University's Safety Management Department purchased a new forklift that was installed in the Strain Safety Building's High Bay Lab, Nov. 30. The Hyster FORTIS S30FT model forklift is a propane-powered industrial truck that will be used for student instruction, such as teaching students how to apply OSHA regulations to the workplace, and for mock incident investigations and operator evaluations. Michael Adamczyk, assistant professor of safety management, gave Reece Leotta, a sophomore safety management major from Pottstown, the first demonstration.
