Jana Asher, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of mathematics and statistics, was featured in Amstat News, the membership magazine of the American Statistical Association.

Asher wrote an essay for the “My ASA Story” section of the magazine, sharing her career background and involvement with ASA. The ASA is the world’s largest community of statisticians and, founded in 1839, it is the nation’s second oldest, continuously operating professional associations. ASA members work in industry, government and academia to advance sound statistical practice to inform public policy and improve human welfare.

Asher and Jeffrey Musyt, an assistant professor of mathematics and statistics, were also recent guests on the Allison Loves Math podcast, discussing how community engagement projects can improve how to teach statistics.
