Gilliland receives Grove City Chamber Community Service Award

John Gilliland, a 1977 Slippery Rock University graduate with a degree in economics, won the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce's 2020 Community Service Award, which is presented to one person each year who demonstrates care and service for the Grove City community.

Gilliland, assistant vice president of commercial lending at Mercer County State Bank in Grove City, was recognized for several contributions, including his work as a former board member of the Grove City YMCA; as founder of BeLoved Mercy Ministries, an organization that serves the homeless; as a youth sports coach; and for serving on the 79-80 Interstate Development Corp. and the Knights of Columbus.
