Burick co-authors paper about the ‘sophomore slump’

Natalie Burick, Slippery Rock University director of disability services, co-authored a paper that was published as a chapter in a book titled, “Exploring the Opportunities and Challenges of College Students.” Burick and Crystal Machado, a professor of professional students in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, wrote a chapter about understanding and mitigating the “sophomore slump,” when college students succumb to pressures of college life and drop out in their second year. Burick, ’09, ’11M, is an SRU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in special education and a master’s degree in school counseling.
