Kalista Heidkamp, a Slippery Rock University senior music education major from Pittsburgh, won the 2021 Butler County Symphony Association’s Virtual Concerto Competition. Heidkamp was the overall and instrumental (flute) category winner in the Collegiate Division. Audition recordings were submitted by college students from four local colleges and were reviewed by a panel of judges. Heidkamp won a professional video recording of her piece and a $400 prize. In addition to hosting the annual competition, the BCSA provides a quality orchestra made up of Butler County residents.
