SRU alumnus to lead PSU’s School of Visual Arts

B. Stephen Carpenter II, a 1987 Slippery Rock University graduate with a bachelor of fine arts degree in visual art, was recently appointed the interim director of the Penn State University School of Visual Arts.

Carpenter, who is a professor of art education and African American studies at PSU, will serve a two-year term.

The PSU School of Visual Arts is a part of the College of Arts and Architecture and offers degree programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in three areas of study: studio art, art education and digital arts and design.
