Hannah Nestor, a Slippery Rock University senior accounting major from Lykens, has been awarded a $10,000 academic scholarship from the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board for the 2018-19 academic year.

Nestor was one of 332 students enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree accounting program in the United States to receive the merit-based scholarship from the PCAOB, intended to encourage accounting students to pursue careers in audit.

The PCAOB is a nonprofit corporation established by Congress to oversee the audits of public companies in order to protect investors and the public interest by promoting informative, accurate and independent audit reports.
