Tyler Benninger, a 2020 Slippery Rock University graduate with a degree in communication, contributed to a video project that won a 2020 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Award by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Benninger was a production assistant for the Pittsburgh Penguins’ PensTV staff that won the Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy in the Sports Feature Segment category for “Matt Cullen, My Story,” which was a personally narrated recap of Cullen’s 21-year career in the National Hockey League.

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter represents more than 700 members in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware from television stations, cable companies and programmers, as well as independent producers, production facilities and educational institutions.

A former intern with the Penguins, Benninger now owns a video production company.
