Two members of the Phi Kappa Phi chapter at Slippery Rock University received Love of Learning Awards from the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Cassandra Eisenreich, an SRU assistant professor of music, and Amy Baverso, an SRU graduate and teacher at Grove City Area Middle School, each received $500 to fund their post-baccalaureate professional development. Baverso has three degrees from SRU, a master's in elementary education (2010); bachelor's degrees as a dual major in education-English and theatre (2006); and a bachelor's degree as a dual major in communication and theatre (2001).
