SRU music groups selected to perform at PMEA conference

Slippery Rock University's Jazz Band and Flute Ensemble were both selected to perform at the 2019 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association/National Association for Music Education Eastern Division Conference.

Organizers evaluated more than 170 submissions and selected the top performance groups, which will perform during the conference, April 4-6 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. The Jazz Band, under the direction of Jason Kush, associate professor of music, will perform at 1 p.m., April 4, and the Flute Ensemble, under the direction of Cassandra Eisenreich, assistant professor of music, will perform at 2 p.m., April 5.

The conference is expected to attract more than 2,500 attendees, including music teachers from all levels, preschool through college, as well as college students majoring in music education and students and directors of performing groups.
