Peterson qualifies for IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships

Leslie Peterson, a Slippery Rock University graduate student majoring in physical therapy from Pittsburgh, qualified for the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships after placing third in the 18-24 age group at a recent qualifying event in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Known as a Half IRONMAN, the IRONMAN 70.3 is comprised of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run. Peterson completed the Atlantic City qualifier in five hours, 39 minutes, placing 81st in her gender and 510th overall.

The 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships is Nov. 28-29, 2020, in Taupo, New Zealand.
