Constance Mulbah, a 2012 Slippery Rock University graduate with a degree in public health, and Corey Carrington, a 2011 SRU graduate with a degree in communications, were named to the Pittsburgh Magazine 40 Under 40 list.

Each year, Pittsburgh Magazine recognizes 40 outstanding individuals under the age of 40 whose “creativity, vision and passion enrich the Pittsburgh region.” They will be recognized at a ceremony, Nov. 4, at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh.

Mulbah is an education liaison for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, where her focus is on preparing refugee and foster-care youth for post-secondary education. She is also the co-founder of Kpo’ma Women, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women of Liberia through education and improvements in agricultural technology. Mulbah is a Liberian refugee who came to the U.S. as a teenager.

Carrington is the creative director for Deeper Than Grits Studios. In addition to representing artists through his agency, he curates art exhibits, tutors youth in creative writing, performs spoken word and produces a clothing line. In 2016, Carrington was the Society for Contemporary Craft's inaugural Emerging Black Arts Leaders Apprentice.
