June Edwards, a Slippery Rock University professor emerita of art, helped paint props for the upcoming movie, "You Are My Friend," which was filmed in Pittsburgh and stars Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers, the host of the popular children's television show "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."

Edwards, a Pittsburgh native who retired from SRU in 2017, worked on the set for more than seven hours a day for nearly two months. She previously worked with various props from the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood television show.

The movie is scheduled for release in October 2019.
