Slippery Rock University placed 11th out of 32 teams at the 2018 Regional Ethics Bowl at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. This was SRU's highest finish in the four years since it began competing in the event, which is sponsored by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics and is a qualifying event for the National Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl.

As part of the competition, teams argue and defend their moral assessment of some of the most troubling and complex ethical issues facing society today, fielding questions from cases developed by APPE faculty on topics in business and professional ethics, personal relationships and social and political affairs.

The following are members of the SRU Ethics Bowl team:

  • Maggie Calvert, a senior dual major in political science and philosophy from Butler.
  • Reginal Wooley, a freshman safety management major from Meadow Lands.
  • Ashley Bonetti, a junior dual major in psychology and philosophy from Slippery Rock.
  • Aleks White, a junior philosophy major from Grove City.
  • Mark Thomas, a junior philosophy major from Butler.
