Summer Camps

We are excited that you have selected The Macoskey Center as your summer camp destination. Through our summer camps, we aim to inspire children to care for the natural world around them through quality environmental education programming. Please find additional information about the camps below. Before each camp, we will send you a more detailed schedule, information about how to get to the MC, an introduction to MC staff members, as well as an additional copy of our camp policies and procedures.

Week 1 Summer Camp

Week 1 (June 10th - 12th) Nature Fairytales 2.0

Time: ½ day - AM: 8:30am-12pm OR PM: 1pm-3:30pm

Age Group: Entering Pre-K, Kindergarten, & Early Elementary or 4-7 yrs. old

In this half-day camp, explore the magic nature has to offer! Storybooks will come to life as campers use all five senses to experience shapes, textures, and colors in nature, explore our trails, play games, and meet our chickens!

Different stories than last year’s camp will be used to keep returning campers engaged.

Week 2 Summer Camp

Week 2 (June 24th – 26th) Farm to Fork – Let’s Get Growing!

Times: Full Day – 8:30am-3:30pm (6-11 yrs); Half Day - 8:30am-12:00pm (4-5 yrs)

Age Groups: Early Elementary (Entering 1st-3rd grade or 6-8 yrs. old) & Upper Elementary (Entering 4th-6th grade or 9-11 yrs. old)

Experience and taste The Macoskey Center’s gardens and edible landscape. Campers will get their hands dirty as they learn how to plan, prepare, and plant gardens. They will also learn how to properly care for a garden and what plants need to thrive.

Week 3 Summer Camp

Week 3 (July 15th – 17th): Nature Explorers

Times: Full Day – 8:30am-3:30pm (6-11 yrs); Half Day - 8:30am-12:00pm (4-5 yrs)

Age Groups: Early Elementary (Entering 1st-3rd grade or 6-8 yrs. old) & Upper Elementary (Entering 4th-6th grade or 9-11 yrs. old)

Explore The Macoskey Center trails and learn about the variety of animals that call them home. Through hands-on activities, games, and outdoor investigations, campers will learn about the natural world around them. Campers will also learn how to become good stewards of their environment.

Week 4 Summer Camp

Week 4 (July 29th – 31st): Farm to Fork – Let’s Get Cooking!

Age Groups: Early Elementary (Entering 1st-3rd grade or 6-8 yrs. old) & Upper Elementary (Entering 4th-6th grade or 9-11 yrs. old)

Learn to harvest, prep, and cook delicious snacks with The Macoskey Center staff using fresh ingredients from our gardens and edible landscape. Campers will explore our food forest and gardens as well as prepare a meal for their families to enjoy.
