Career Outcomes

Career opportunities for accounting students are ranked as as one of the top two careers, according to Burning Glass. The accounting industry has a need for graduates who understand data analytics and how to generate and use them in their work. The Journal of Accountancy published an article “The next frontier in data analytics” that noted the importance of data analytics. “A joint AICPA Assurance Services Executive Committee/Auditing Standards Board Task Force is developing a new Audit Data Analytics Guide, which will supersede the current Analytical Procedures guide”. In addition, a Robert Half study was quoted in the article: “Expertise in business analytics, such as business intelligence and data mining, was deemed mandatory for at least some accounting and finance employees by 61% of more than 2,100 CFOs participating in the survey”.

All applicants must submit the following materials along with a completed online graduate application and non-refundable application fee:

Two electronic recommendation forms
Resume
Official undergraduate degree transcript(s) and any graduate transcripts
Students with a GPA below 3.0 may be required to submit official Graduate Record
Examination (GRE) scores
