The School of Engineering (SoE) at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania trains and educates our students to become competent project engineers and successful professional leaders who can design, build, innovate, create and optimize a variety of industrial products, systems, and processes. What is Engineering?

Engineers are practical problem solvers, which means they apply the knowledge of science and mathematics with engineering principles to provide practical solutions to a variety of real-world problems facing our society and time. As an engineer, you can design unique products, build sophisticated systems, or develop innovative processes under a set of constraints. Engineering is a well-respected profession enjoying a very rewarding career in a variety of sectors including many industries and governmental entities.

What is unique about SRU’s engineering program?

Our engineering programs at SRU are designed to meet the needs of engineering workforce in a teaching-focused, student-centered environment. Our engineering labs are equipped with state-of-the-art instruments to enhance hands-on learning and professional skills. Our project-based learning and capstone design courses are to enrich students’ design experience. Our faculty dedicate themselves to high-quality undergraduate teaching and student success.

How do you ensure student success at SRU?

At SRU, our engineering programs are designed to provide students with sound fundamental knowledge in small class sizes and solid professional skills by project-based learning, design projects, and internships, to ensure our students to succeed in their engineering profession when they graduate.
