Slippery Rock University has extra long mattresses which are longer than 76 inches. These extra-long beds require specifically-sized sheets, comforters and blankets.

A Twin XL mattress is essentially a standard Twin bed with extra length, designed to accommodate taller sleepers who need more legroom without increasing width. The width remains 38 inches, the same as a standard Twin, while the length is extended to 80 inches, which is 5 inches longer than a standard Twin, and has a depth of 6 inches. This extra length matches the length of Queen and King mattresses, providing full-size comfort in a narrower footprint. Twin XL sheets are not interchangeable with standard Twin sheets due to the extra length. When purchasing bedding, always ensure it is labeled for Twin XL to fit properly.
