About Our School Wellness Education Concentration: Lifelong Wellness Through Innovative Leadership Program
Slippery Rock University’s M.S. in Lifelong Wellness through Innovative Leadership empowers educators and professionals to lead wellness-focused change across schools, communities, and organizations. This fully online program emphasizes practical, innovative strategies to support physical and holistic well-being across the lifespan. Choose from two specialized tracks, Coaching and Officiating or School Wellness Education, and prepare to make a lasting impact on the lives of those you serve.
The School Wellness Education (SWE) concentration is for health and physical education teachers who want to shift from a traditional PE model to a modern wellness approach. Focusing on personalized learning and educational technology, this program helps you update your K-12 curriculum to align with national standards from SHAPE America and the CDC. This concentration also offers an option to an initial teaching certification in K-12 Health and Physical Education.

- Finish core coursework offered - Typically, every course is offered once per year. The teacher certification-related SWE courses are typically offered during the fall and spring semesters, while core courses are offered during the winter and summer terms, or as needed.
- Optional Teaching Certification - Focus on school wellness, education technology, and personalized learning and earn a teaching certification in K-12 Health and Physical Education. Additional coursework, field, and student teaching will be required.

The School Wellness Education concentration will provide you with the tools to design, manage, and advocate for Innovative programs in schools, community agencies, and corporate settings.
