SRU CRIM created a credit transfer partnership with the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP). SRU is the first and currently only State System school in Western Pennsylvania to offer this exciting career opportunity.
This partnership offers a transfer credit bridge with the PSP academy. SRU CRIM majors who are accepted into the PSP academy will be able to count their academy training for 15 CRIM upper-level elective credits. Assuming all other graduation requirements are complete, students will be able to transfer PSP Academy credits into their final-semester workload. Once the student/trooper candidate graduates from the academy, SRU will transfer credits to count for 15 elective credits.
Students must be accepted into the PSP academy to take advantage of this opportunity. They will also need to work closely with their academic advisor to ensure they complete the remaining degree requirements before entering their bridge semester. Trooper Nicole Ludwig is our liaison with the PSP and will work with students to prepare them for the state police application process. The CRIM department provides a specific course plan to enable students to pursue this option.
