Healthcare Administration and Management
Healthcare Administration and Management (HCAM) offers a wide range of career opportunities in one of the nation's largest and most dynamic industries. An HCAM degree from Slippery Rock University provides the knowledge and skills needed to pursue administrative and leadership roles throughout the health care industry while making a positive impact on the people and communities it serves.
Students can choose from two primary paths:
- Choose the non-clinical administration and management path to prepare for leadership and management roles across the health care industry. Students who have previous college experience and want to complete their bachelor's degree may also be eligible for SRU's flexible online HCAM degree completion program.
- Choose an accelerated or traditional pre-professional HCAM pathway to prepare for continued education in Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, or Occupational Therapy programs while earning your undergraduate HCAM degree. These pathways combine preparation for advanced clinical study with an understanding of how health care organizations operate, giving students a foundation in both the clinical and business sides of health care.
Why Healthcare Administration and Management?
Health care extends far beyond doctors, nurses, and hospitals. The industry relies on skilled administrators and managers to lead organizations, manage resources, improve operations, navigate regulatory requirements, and help deliver effective health care services.

The size, complexity, and continued evolution of the health care industry create opportunities for professionals who understand both health care and effective organizational management.
