The Nursing BSN (1+2+1) pathway at Slippery Rock University (SRU) is a distinctive and innovative model designed to support students in completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in an efficient, accessible, and cost-effective manner. This pathway provides a flexible route to registered nurse licensure while allowing students to progress seamlessly through partnered institutions. Students complete their first and fourth years at SRU, while their second and third years are completed at one of SRU’s partner nursing programs, where they earn either an associate or diploma credential in nursing. Partner schools include:
- Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) – Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Butler County Community College (BC3) – Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Schools of Nursing – Diploma in Nursing
Upon successful completion of the third year of study, students are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination and may begin employment as registered nurses (RNs). The final year BSN coursework is delivered fully online, allowing students to complete their degree while working as licensed professionals and accommodating the demands of a professional nursing schedule.
