Transfer Scholarships

Experience the Difference of a successful and affordable transfer to Slippery Rock University!

Not only do we offer the most flexibility in transferring college credits so your courses aren't lost in the transition, but we also recognize academic accomplishments with scholarships to make your decision to attend as easy as possible.

Transfer Admissions awards non-renewable merit scholarships to qualified transfer students for the Fall term, when funding is available. Eligible candidates are identified through the admissions application process; no additional application is needed to apply.

To be considered for these awards, the student must meet the following criteria:

  • A cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better as of the last semester completed
  • The last completed semester must have been as full-time status (at least 12 credits)
  • Full-time enrollment (at least 12 credits) at SRU for the first semester in attendance
  • Must complete/update a current year FAFSA which can be done at www.studentaid.gov

Students in their first semester will be evaluated after final grades have been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.  All transfer students will be considered for the merit scholarship awards; financial need will be reviewed for all students meeting merit criteria.  All new transfer students should file the FAFSA as soon as possible to ensure the best eligibility.

Meeting scholarship qualifications does not guarantee an award.  Awards are made only while funds are available.  Students will be notified by letter from the Office of Financial Aid when receiving a transfer scholarship.

Apply for admission early to receive fullest consideration.  Scholarships will be awarded until the funds have been depleted. As funds become limited, we reserve the right to alter how and when awards are made.  Questions about scholarships can be directed to Undergraduate Admissions at transferadmissions@sru.edu.  Learn more about your successful and affordable transfer today!
