Simply Modern
"Simply Modern" displays an abundance of ceramic pieces that show quality and quantity. The ceramic art is displayed as individual pieces that are unified by their matching color and sets. Four colors are used for the glazes that are matte, modern colors that are mixed from powder materials. The body of work is muted enough to fit in any home but still bring a fun color into the space. The pieces shown are functional pieces like cups, mugs and bowls, as well as pieces that are decorative. The simplicity of the shape and color of the work is to exhibit sleek and crisp design that can be used as functional and decorative art. To show how they can be displayed in someone's home, they have additional adornments including plants, small gold accents, and hand-poured candles. The work is displayed on pedestals in a non-traditional stacked form and on wall-mounted shelves.
