What's there to do at SRU? A whole lot! The University is centered on the student experience and campus life. We offer many fun and exciting opportunities to create an enjoyable, memorable and formative college experience.

  • More than 160 clubs and organizations for you to get involved in.
  • Frequent on- and off-campus outings and events.

Here's a quick glimpse at some of the awesome things you can do at SRU:

Entertainment

  • The Union Program Board sponsors regular entertainment events, including performing arts, concerts, films, lectures and travel.
  • The UPB brings to campus the most popular music acts, celebrity guest speakers and more.

Sports

  • SRU has some of the most successful varsity sports teams in NCAA Division II who play at premier facilities for great fan experiences.
  • Come cheer The Rock to victory, free of charge for students.
  • You can also participate in a variety of intramural sports, including soccer, flag football, softball, hockey, kickball and ultimate Frisbee.
  • More than 5,000 students participate in intramurals every year.

Arts

  • See and experience something new or different.
  • Arts and cultural activities abound at SRU in the form of music performances, theatrical events, art exhibits and dance concerts.

Social

  • Meet new people and develop lifelong relationships.
  • A thriving Greek Life awaits with a variety of social fraternities and sororities.
  • There are also many academic honor societies related to our various degree programs.

Fitness

  • Get physically active at SRU's Aebersold Recreation Center (ARC).
  • Features a two-story rock climbing wall, weight facility, indoor track, swimming pool, and multiple courts.
  • The ARC is open late on weekends and weekdays.
  • Campus Recreation also offers fun and challenging fitness classes and outdoor adventure programs.

Local Community

  • Slippery Rock is an idyllic small town with shops, restaurants and more.
  • The Village at Slippery Rock has recently undergone a renaissance.
  • Stroll down for an off-campus lunch or dinner, hang out at one of the coffee shops, or (if you're of-age) enjoy the tavern or microbrewery.
