Karla Fonner

Karla Fonner is the Dean of Students, Title IX Coordinator and the Chair of our campus Care Coordination & Behavioral Intervention Team. Karla received both her BS in Public Health and MA in Student Affairs and College Counseling from SRU and has been an employee on campus for 22 years. In her role as Dean, Fonner oversees two assistant deans and initiatives in Disability Services, Student Support and Accountability Programs. In addition to her degree programs, Karla is certified in Critical Incident Response, Higher Education Case Management, Suicide Prevention/Intervention and Postvention and Bystander Intervention.

Burick is one of our Assistant Dean of Students and provides access, care, and support to students connected with the Dean of Student's offices. Dr. Burick has worked at SRU for 15 years in many student facing roles such as Housing and Residence Life, Disability Services, and the Office for Global Engagement. She is a double alum of SRU and earned her doctorate from Indiana University of PA. Her office also provides support for students, faculty, and staff through programming and trainings related to disability, care, and case management practices. Dr. Burick and her staff are strong advocates for all students and strive to assist students in meeting their academic and personal goals.

Scott Irlbacher is the Assistant Dean of Students leading the Accountability Programs team within the Dean of Students office. He reports to the Dean of Students and is responsible for the administration of the University Student Code of Conduct, conflict and connection programs, health and wellness programs, and the Wellness Peer Educators program. He partners with campus and community stakeholders to see students are fairly and evenly held responsible for alleged violations and when necessary, provides educational sanctions to ensure student learning and success. Scott has been at SRU since 2022 and has been working in higher education since 2006.

Kim is a two-time alumnus of Slippery Rock University earning her BS in Recreational Therapy and her MEd in Secondary Guidance and Counseling. She has been serving students through Disability Services for more than 10 years. Kim is an active member of the Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and currently serves as an ex-officio for the President's Commission on Disability Services at SRU. She is passionate about her work and always ready to offer a helping hand to any student who walks into her office. Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters and lives by the quote, “enjoy being”.

Jenny Senko

Jenny Senko is an Assistant Director in the Office of Disability Services. Jenny specializes in working with students with blindness and low vision as well as students requesting emotional support animals. Jenny earned her undergraduate degree at SRU in Community Programs for Americans with Disabilities with a minor in Adapted Physical Activity. She earned her master’s degree at Florida State University to become a certified teacher of students with visual impairments and orientation and mobility specialist. Jenny can often be seen on campus with a guide dog puppy in training who stays with Jenny’s family for approximately one year before moving on to their advanced service dog training.

Zachery Brown

Zach is the Assistant Director of the Rock Life program. The Rock Life program provides individuals with intellectual disabilities an opportunity for an inclusive college experience. While in the program students work to bolster independent living, socialization and vocational skills. Zach provides day-to-day oversite of the program.

Zach is a double alum of SRU. He earned his B.S. in Psychology, in 2014, and his M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. During the summer of 2018, Zach took a seasonal Unit Leader position at Camp Southern Ground (CSG) in Georgia. CSG was created by Zac Brown of the Zac Brown Band. In his role as Unit Leader, Zach provided direct support to camp counselors and their campers. In the fall of 2018 Zach took the role of Disability Services Coordinator at Grove City College, in PA. Zach was responsible for providing reasonable accommodations for students on campus until his return to SRU in 2023.

In his free time, Zach enjoys playing his guitar, going to concerts and spending time with his family and friends.

Roman Carnes

Roman is a Rock Life Coordinator for the Rock Life program. The Rock Life program provides individuals with intellectual disabilities an opportunity for an inclusive college experience. While in the program, students work to bolster independent living, socialization, and vocational skills. Roman works in tandem with the Assistant Director to provide day-to-day oversite of the program.

Roman is a double alum of SRU. He earned is B.A. in 2023 in Communication Studies, and his M.A. in 2025 in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Roman has worked in many areas across Higher Education including Residence Life, Success Coaching, Orientation, Admissions, Academic Advising and Student Engagement & Leadership. Roman is a first-generation college graduate and enjoys giving to his students what higher education gave to him./p>

Suzanne Sandrock

Suzanne Sandrock is the secretary for the Office of Disability Services (ODS) and has worked at SRU for 9 years. Suzanne was a nontraditional graduate of Clarion University with a BA in Elementary Education. Prior to working at SRU, she was a preschool teacher for students between the ages of 3-5. Suzanne was the lead teacher and had very diverse classes over the years. She also worked in background investigations for several years after leaving the school system. Spending time with family and friends is very important to her.

Hannah Cook

Hannah Cook, Disability Services

Hannah Cook is a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Disability Services. Her responsibilities entail ensuring testing accommodations for students, sourcing alternative formats for textbooks, and meetings with students who need extra support.

Hannah is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Slippery Rock University. Hannah has her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from CUNY Hunter College. Hannah is interested in counseling adults with disabilities, particularly people on the autism spectrum with addiction use disorder.

Mia Scalamogna

Mia Scalamogna, Disability Services

Mia Scalamogna is a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Disability Services who is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education at Slippery Rock University. Alongside pursing her Master's Degree, Mia also serves as a Senior Resident Assistant with Housing and Residence Life. Mia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.

Sunshine Mushrush

Sunshine Mushrush is the Associate Director of Triage and Case Management. She triages all care referrals received through the Care Network and carries a large student caseload. Sunshine has worked for SRU for over thirteen years. Prior to moving to Student Support, Sunshine spent three years working as a Student Success Coach. Before that, Sunshine worked in Retention Services, Academic Services, and Undergraduate Admissions. Sunshine has earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and her Master of Social Work at SRU. Sunshine is certified in Higher Education Case Management and QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention. She has also completed Safe Zone training.

Maranda Stack

Maranda works as an Associate Director and Case Manager in Student Support. She received her BA in Psychology from Westminster College and her MS in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. In her former professional roles, Maranda worked as an outpatient counselor for individuals of all ages and is a licensed professional counselor. Though she doesn’t use her license in her current role, she uses her background to guide her work with students. Maranda is a first-generation college graduate and enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Tori Kapopoulos is an Assistant Director and Case Manager for Basic Needs with Student Support. Tori received a BA in Geography from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Sustainability from Chatham University. Tori has a background in nonprofit development, local government, and student leadership programming and development. Tori also has a strong emphasis on community engagement. She aims to support students in meeting their basic needs by providing resources and decreasing barriers so that they may be successful and achieve their goals.

Alison Stucchio is the secretary for Student Support. She is a graduate of SRU with a BA in psychology. Alison worked in the social work field with at-risk children and families before returning to SRU as clerical staff.

Parker Short is the Graduate Assistant for Basic Needs at Slippery Rock University (SRU). Through this position he connects students to resources helpful for their specific situation, oversees Rock Pantry+ operations, and assists with basic needs insecurities focused research. In order to ensure students are connected to the proper resources, Parker meets with them to review their situation in depth.

Parker is enrolled in the Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education program at SRU. He has an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Psychology from SRU. He has previous experience working in Student Support as an intern. This internship also provided valuable opportunities for research centered around basic needs insecurities.

Earl Coburn

Earl Coburn is the Associate Director of Personal Integrity within Accountability Programs where he helps students navigating conflict and communicating with others. In addition to student meetings, Earl can host mediations, present on topics related to conflict, and host workshops to help student groups navigating conflict and group dynamics. Earl previously worked as the Assistant Director of Outreach and Case Management in Student Support and as a Student Success Coach at Slippery Rock. Before Slippery Rock, Earl worked as part of auxiliary services at the University of Pittsburgh, oversaw day-to-day operations as the Assistant Director of Residence Life at Notre Dame College, led training and development as the Training Coordinator at Walmart, and taught Intro to Communication at Kent State University. Lizzy Kline

Lizzy Kline is the Assistant Director of Wellness Education within Accountability Programs. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Public Health from SRU and worked as a Peer Educator and Graduate Assistant on campus. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW), and is certified in alcohol, drug, and behavior change education through the BASICS & CASICS and SMART certifications. Lizzy oversees the Wellness Peer Educator organization for educational events and programming on campus. Harley Anderson

Harley Anderson, Student Conduct

Harley Anderson is a Graduate Assistant in Student Conduct at Slippery Rock University, where she supports students through conduct meetings, promotes accountability, and contributes to a safe and respectful campus environment. In addition to student meetings, Harley collaborates on departmental projects, manages confidential case files, and assists with educational initiatives related to student behavior and integrity.

Harley is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education with a concentration in College Counseling at Slippery Rock University. As a former school counseling intern at McQuistion Elementary School, Harley gained hands-on experience supporting young students through classroom lessons, behavioral interventions, and wellness programming. Alongside her graduate studies, Harley continues to develop her skills through student support roles on campus and active engagement in professional development. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Slippery Rock University.

Glory Patterson

Glory Patterson, Wellness Education

Glory is a Slippery Rock University alumna with a B.S. in Public Health and is currently a Slippery Rock University graduate student in the Masters of Public Health Program. Glory is a former Wellness Peer Educator and in her role as Graduate Assistant, she supervises the Wellness Peers. She also oversees a student organization called the Student Health Advisory Panel (SHAP) to connect students to health information and resources on campus. Emily Cole, Wellness Education

Emily is a Slippery Rock University alumna with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Philanthropy and Nonprofit management. She is currently a Slippery Rock University graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program.
