Strategic Communication and Media

The Department of Strategic Communication and Media offers concentrations in advertising, digital media production, health communication, public relations, integrated marketing communication, multimedia journalism, and communication studies, as well as minors in graphic design and communication studies.

Our majors develop effective speaking and writing skills, new media production and design skills, the ability to engage in research and analysis, an understanding of the ethical and legal challenges in the communication field, professional skills and attitudes, and career skills.

Students also complete a senior capstone seminar that guides them in developing a digital portfolio, exploring job opportunities and graduate school, learning professional skills for the workplace, and networking.

Networking and alumni: Graduates will join an exceptional group of alumni who work in communication careers from coast to coast, and along with other industry leaders, support the department as members of our professional Advisory Board.
