Doctoral and Masters Degree Programs

Online Doctoral and Masters Degree Programs at SRU provide professionals the opportunity to advance their careers in a way that fits into their busy lives. Online programs provide the same quality education and valuable interaction with instructors and colleagues as expected from a SRU education but when it is convenient for them.

Doctoral Program

Special Education Ed. D

The Special Education Ed.D at SRU helps students to become leaders in special education by preparing them to become administrators of special education schools or educators of the next generation of special education teachers.


Educational Leadership Ed. D

The Doctor of Education program prepares educators to become administrators and executive leaders in a complex educational landscape. Our educational leadership degree also develops skills related to strategic organizational vision and engaging in shared governance processes.


Master's Programs


Criminal Justice M.A.
  

Students in SRU's Criminal Justice program learn about the three components of the criminal justice system, criminology theory, and researcher and statistical methods.


Data Analytics M.S.

Slippery Rock University's Master of Science in Data Analytics is 33 credits and consists of blended coursework.


Elementary Education: K-8 Math/Science M.Ed.

The Elementary Education: K-8 Math and Science program at SRU gives students the technological, theoretical and curricula resources to teach math and science in a way that allows students to succeed in the classroom and during state tests.


Elementary Education: K-12 Reading Specialist M.Ed.

Students in the Elementary Education: K-12 Reading Specialist program at SRU become adept at instructional coaching and literacy education, meeting all the requirements for Level II certification, Act 48, and a M. Ed. degree.


Elementary Education: K-12 Reading Specialist with Coaching Literacy Endorsement M.Ed.

The Elementary Education: K-12 Reading Specialist with Coaching Literacy Endorsement program at SRU prepare students to be both reading specialists and instructional coaches and leads to certification as a K-12 reading specialist and an instructional coaching endorsement from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.


ENGLISH M.A.

The online Master of Arts in English prepares students for writing in fields such as business, education, government, law, nonprofit administration, translation, and technical writing. The curriculum is designed to take students' writing to the next level.


History M.A.

The History program at SRU allows students to advance their understanding of U.S and European history to advance careers in fields, such as law, government, education, the military, and business.


Environmental Education M.Ed.

Drawing on state and national guidelines, the Environmental Education program at SRU increases students' understanding of how society interacts with the environment while providing a background in ecology and natural history.


Park & Resource Management M.S.

Students in the Park and Resource Management program at SRU learn about ecology and natural resource management to help advance their careers in state and federal natural resource agencies throughout the United States.


Secondary Education: Teaching Math & Science (Adv. Track only) M.Ed.

The Secondary Education: Teach Math & Science advanced track program at SRU provides students who already possess a teaching certificate additional experience in special education, foundations of education, instructional technology, or counseling along with core classes.


Secondary Education: Teaching English (advanced track) M.Ed.

Students who already possess a teaching certification can take courses in English, foundations of education, instructional technology, or counseling along with core classes in the advanced teaching track of Secondary Education: Teaching English at SRU.


Secondary Education: Teaching History (advanced track) M.Ed.

In the Secondary Education: Teaching History advanced track program at SRU students with teaching certifications focus on coursework in history, foundations of education, instructional technology, or counseling along with core classes.


SOCIAL WORK MSW

The specialized MSW coursework allows social workers to make a greater difference helping vulnerable people in society. Completing an MSW program allows students to specialize in an area of the broad social work field and can also help those interested in pursuing leadership positions. An advanced degree in social work can also lead to career paths in related fields such as healthcare administration, advocacy work, or policy analysis.


Special Education: Autism M.Ed.

Students in SRU's Special Education Autism program at SRU take specialized courses that aligned with CEC standards and PA Department of Education competencies from instructors with expertise in autism spectrum disorders.


Special Education: Grades PK-12 M.Ed.

Students in the Special Education Grade 7-12 program at SRU take courses grounded in theory and research, which allow them to be better prepared to face the challenges of diverse student populations.


Special Education: Supervision M.Ed.

Students in SRU's Special Education Supervisor take courses that help them earn a special education supervision certificate and a M.Ed., allowing them to be leaders in the special education field.


Technology for Online Instruction (Master Of Education)

Slippery Rock University's Master of Education in Technology for Online Instruction is delivered completely online and can be completed in a little over a year.

Applied Research, Statistics, and Measurement (Certificate)

Slippery Rock University's Applied Research, Statistics, and Measurement Certificate is 12 credits and offered exclusively online.
